Sitting Up, and the Six Month Update

Nora turned six months old last week, and to mark the occasion, she thought she'd try something new. With a little help from her good friend Boppy, she started sitting up! Ahhh, to be young and have a perfectly aligned, uncompressed spine. There's nothing quite so beautiful as a baby's perfect posture.

She's still a little tippy, but can reach out and grab stuff, and launch herself sideways and forward, onto her belly. (Uh, yeah. Thank goodness for mama's quick hands twixt the floor and baby's forehead.) She's reached a whole new level of hand-eye coordination (you should see the way she manipulates that binky from backwards on the floor, to hand, to front-forward and into mouth!) and is reaching out for the people and objects she desires. Paper coffee cups (which are plentiful these days - read below) seem to hold a special appeal. Is she a Pacific Northwest girl, or what?

Add it all up, and it's no wonder she's waking up every hour or so - Nora's little brain is whirring away, putting all the pieces together. Baby insomnia - fun for the entire family!
