Making Shortcake

This was a delectable day. An entire day of just mama-and-Nora, which almost never happens amidst the hustle and bustle of work, and the richness of close family life. Just two, giggling and snuggling and Doing Our Work.

We walked to the playground, where Nora sat at the top of the slide all by herself, murmuring "Ready, set, GO. Ready, set, GO." Ultimately, she called for mama's lap and we "whee-ed" down together. We marched over to Owie and Anno's house. We marched back home, and went to the grocery store. A nap was had. A wading pool was waded. And finally, some sweet biscuit shortcake was made! Two small hands and two big ones poured flour, cut in butter, stirred milk, and cut rounds. The two small hands also popped way too much raw dough into the accompanying small mouth.
