"I Want Mt. Tabor to Be a Volcano Again!"

Nora's passionate interest in volcanos sprung to life a couple weeks ago, and after a trip to the library we're knee-deep in volcanology -- terms like "magma," "debris," and "eruption" are now tossed around casually. (We're still working on "pyroclastic flow.") Our recent trip to the beach was full of volcano-making (no sandcastles for this crew), carefully differentiating between shield volcanos (the low, flat ones) and strato volcanos (the tall, powerful ones).

Near our neighborhood is a tall, pointy hill -- a viewpoint (great perspective of downtown), park, and playground. It's a favorite for cyclists, with the sharp climb. Dada likes to take Nora in the trailer, powering up to the swingsets and then "Wheeeeeee!!" back down the hill toward home.

He had the best intentions when he told Nora that Mt. Tabor is, in fact, an extinct volcano. She's really upset about this, and turned the pout to its highest setting in her pleas for renewed eruptions. Witness:

Though Nora was clearly disappointed about the news of Mt. Tabor being extinct, she apparently shared her passion for volcanoes with Stella. Stella squaked and squealed the entire 3:18 of the video, thoroughly mesmerized by the Nora's vast knowledge for volcanoes.
