Winter Solstice

Perhaps it's moving to such a high latitude, where the days grow exceedingly short, and the light is mostly muted by rain clouds for months at a time ... but the winter solstice has become a celebration almost more joyous and anticipated than Christmas Day.

A new dress, a lantern walk, a burning yule log, a house full of candles, snacks and warm company ... and our Nora Helena (which means "bright light") shining at the center of it all, sparkly glitter shoes lighting the way toward sunlight's return.
