Sunshiney Bedtime

Little ones have it tough. The winter melts away and the spring goes breezing past us and pretty soon the days stretch out like warm taffy. Sunlight glides through the windows, low and honey-colored, until quarter past eight. What about that 7:30 bedtime?

Restless, rolling around on warm sheets, all Nora wants to do is join mama and dada on the porch where they drink wine and watch the sky go to indigo and wait for giddy, flapping bats to cut across the twilight.

The late sun makes for nice pictures of stubborn, bed-headed babies. Soon after, she's in her crib - butt up high and cheek pressed down, heavy-lidded, breathing deep and dreaming.
