We ventured forth, on a very chilly day last week, to choose our special tree. Peppermint mochas for the big people, and a quick trip up the street. (A little less ambitious than last year, when we drove out to a remote tree farm, and Dada went three brutal rounds with a welterweight conifer, cursing all the while.)
Nora was most excited by the Huge! Red! Letters! on the sign, and the sensation of running across pavement near a very busy intersection. Arrythmia, anyone?
In any case, we got the thing home, and upright, and eventually decked it out in white lights and sparkly things. Nora wore her new holiday skirt (thank you, nonna!) and squealed with glee. Auntie K and Uncle R and Owen - "Little Meatball" - joined the festivities. Hot chocolate? Check. Stupid Santa hats? You betcha.

What does one say except that both babies are just so so beautiful. The Santa hat is great, the baby even greater.
