- 4/18/10: After brushing her teeth: "Mama, our tongue is the rug of our mouth!" (As opposed to the roof of our mouth, I imagine.)
- 12/24/09: "What does 'real' mean?" ... "What does 'alive' mean?"
- 12/8/09: "Where is the middle of the air?"
- 10/21/09: She's busily painting a birdhouse, and I speak to her. She says, "Mama, I'm unavailable right now."
- 10/8/09: "Some cats are kinda old, and cranky. And some cats are good for roasting."
- 10/1/09: "Mama, you're as strong as a tornado. And pretty!"

Nora, we can not wait till you get here to Colorado in a couple of weeks. I don't know if we will be able to let you go back to Oregon when your folks have to leave,we may just have to hide you here with us.
