Five Little Ducks

Here's a peek into Nora's latest leap into the world of books. She's got several memorized, and recites them carefully. We find her tucked into the rocking chair or squirreled away in the playroom, paging through her favorites. For those who don't know this classic, it goes like this (the lines in brackets are the ones that Nora skips, but you'll get the idea):

Five little ducks went out one day,
Over the hills and far away ...
[Mother duck said, Quack quack! Quack!
Four little ducks came back - and so on, down to one ...]
Sad mother duck went out one day,
Over the hills and far away.
[Mother duck said, Quack quack! Quack quack!]
Five little ducks came back!



There at the end, she sees a tiny picture, on the intro page, of a baby duck reading a book.
