We've been busy! Pardon the mega-post, but we owe you a big update from Birthday Party Central ...
Three toddler-sized friends, all the grandparents, aunts, and uncles, plus a few grownup friends all gathered in the prettified backyard (thank you, dada, for all of the landscaping and painting!) to congratulate Nora on turning TWO!
The details: Great Aunt Hallie's sponge cake was served, after snacks for everyone and bloody marys for the grownups. (As the evite said - "We're parents of a toddler. We need a fortifying beverage.") It was a chilly morning, letting us know sweetly but firmly that summer is drawing to a close. Nora was a wonderful hostess, hanging in there through the thank-yous and wrapping paper, sugary treats and sharing of toys. Nonna made a splendid birthday skirt for Nora, from birdie fabric and ric-a-rac galore.
And how's this for a little then-and-now?
First Birthday Party, 2007
Second Birthday Party, 2008!
On top of knowing about a kajillion words, spending loads of time galloping and jumping, and her daily loop through a large repertoire of musical numbers, Nora has also developed a "Say Cheese!" smile that just slays us. Happy Two, BeeBoo!
