Reading

She loves chapter books, already. We can sit and read, and read, and read ... no pictures required, she just listens. And remembers it all. But it's hard to find chapter books appropriate for a merely 3 3/4, extremely sensitive little girl. We're saving Ramona Quimby, Junie B. Jones, and Superfudge. Instead, we've landed on classics: Winnie-the-Pooh (full and unabridged), Raggedy Ann, Old Mother West Wind, Stuart Little. And, because of the brave heroine and irresistable, old-fashioned language, Wizard of Oz (decapitation scenes edited).

And when the dishes demand attention, or the laundry needs folding, sometimes we'll find her just sitting in an angle of light, paging through her books.
