Since her earthly debut, Nora's voice has pulled us out of sleep each morning. Infant cries became coos, coos became babbles, babbles became chattering and giggles with the occasional frustrated whine.
This morning, as we lay there groaning like the aged and aching parents we are, a single sentence broke through the fog. There was no mistaking what she said - it was as clear, so to speak, as day.
"Oh my goodness!"
Just like that. A full-on, three-word exclamation of surprise and delight. She did it again, tonight, looking at her Eric Carle pop-up book. So we captured it on camera, just for ya'll. (We even caught a snippet of the whining protest she likes to throw down if we don't let her look at the camera when we're done.)
