The Negotiator

We weren't going to post this, because it's very long and perhaps a little boring, unless of course you're a Nora fanatic. In which case you're probably still reading this silly blog. In which case, we determined, you'll not only watch this whole thing, but you'll watch it more than once, and maybe call the neighbors over to see it too.

Here, you'll see a little bit of what we're up against. Nora can argue, reason, negotiate, stonewall, and maneuver her way through any conversation. "Because I said so!" has been uttered in this house, oh yes. And she does not ever, ever give up. She is T-E-N-A-C-I-O-U-S.

This video isn't really a fair example of these exchanges, because Nora remains pleasant throughout, here, instead of collapsing into a heaving, desperate mass, rending her garments and ululating her agony at the universe's betrayal. (Of course, in this clip, mama never does deny her the object of her desire. It's quite literally within her grasp throughout. If it had been taken away ... oh, the walls would shake. Now that we need to get on video!)
