More and more, Nora is the captain of her ship. "Nora SELF," she tells us.
Two weeks ago, she sat at the top of the big playground slide, murmuring to herself, "Ready. Set. Go ... Ready. Set. Go ..." but she couldn't quite muster up the courage. A couple of days passed. Then, there was this:
She won't let us near her as she navigates staircases, climbs into chairs, tries mightily to put her own legs into her own pants. "Nora do it!" she declares. And we remind ourselves that it's our job to hold her close and let her go, all at the same time.
